When established in 1856 the number of original members was 36. Today, Saint Thomas Baptist Church has a total of over 900 members.  Due to the growth of the membership, the church building has been expanded several times since 1879.  In 2005, extensive renovations were made to accommodate a capacity of 1000.  Under the present leadership of Reverend Wallace Smith Sr, our Senior Pastor, Saint Thomas Baptist Church has grown immensely.
